Star of David

by Luiza Azancot. Average Reading Time: almost 3 minutes.

This horrid Mercury retrograde period is about to end on July 21. I was badly affected because I had no choice but to schedule the sale of our home, an intercontinental move, and several flights for myself and family while Mercury was in retrograde motion.  Communications problems galore as expected and even some that were not expected.  A “by the book” disaster with stress and aggravation.

It is almost over and I am looking forward to July 29, 2013 when there is something special in skies.  No super moon, no meteor shower, nothing visible to the naked eye, yet it is an important moment in the cosmic calendar of 2013 because it offers a pause and relief from hard and difficult energies.

From the top of the chart going counter clock wise, connected in a hexagon, we have Pluto in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces, the Moon in Taurus, Jupiter and Mars (and a little wider Mercury) in Cancer, Venus in Virgo and Saturn in Scorpio.  Each planet is in a 60 degree angle to the adjacent ones alternating between Earth and Water signs.  If we connect the planets in Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo we have an earth grand trine and the planets water signs form another grand trine meaning that in each element planets are at a 120 degree apart from each other.

In short: 8 out of 10 planets are in yin elements, a predominant feminine, receptive energy capable of enhancing our perception of the material world and increasing our capacity for sensitivity and attunement to the emotional world. Only Sun and Uranus are in fire signs.  NO planets are in air signs.

The 120 degree angle (trine) provides us with ease and enjoyment because every planet in the trine is in the same element with compatible energies. In the 60 degree angle (sextile) the energies are still compatible but in different elements which gives a little bit of stimulation.  We call the sextile the opportunity aspect but remember that opportunity means work in the sense that we have to start the engine, turn on the ignition and then car will run smoothly.

The conflict between Pluto and Uranus that has dominated these last few years is still ongoing (see The astrology of the crisis) but the Universe provides us during this period, which extends a few days beyond the precise moment of the chart, with a pause and some relief. Let’s rest the mind (possible due to absence of air) and focus on grounding (earth) and feeling (water).  Let’s make the most of this cosmic opportunity that some are calling a mystic hexagon, others grand sextile and others the Star of David.  Anyway it is one of the most positive aspects that the skies can provide.

It is rare formation and apparently the last time it happened was at the beginning of the end of WWII, on February 7, 1945. Exactly during the Yalta Conference that set the stage for the post war world. That grand sextile was in fire and air signs, yang energies.

I don’t know how it is going to manifest in 2013 but everybody will be affected in some way at a personal or a collective level.

Speaking for myself, after the horrendous Mercury retrograde period, I welcome a few days to recharge, to heal, to be peaceful, to breathe and to exhale. But I will not be totally passive… if an opportunity comes my way I will certainly grab it.

I wonder about the babies born under this sky… will they be stars or kings?
